Mei's father was a member of the Yakuza and as a reward for his service, Mei was given a position in the Circle of The Mystic in 2029 of which she became the leader in 2033. Mei lead an opposition against Stephan Tam (the Long Dragon Syndicate's leader in 2035.[1]
Stephen Tam apparently created a diversion using Mei, whom Bishop One captured on April 12, 2041.[2] She was incarcerated at Voltaire Crater Prison and presumably escaped during the breakout that took place on January 23, 2042.[1][3] Mei was then picked up by the Athena en route to Europe where she defended the Athena against an uprising.[4][5]
Mei is a female samurai.[2] She has been interviewed by Ashley Rose repeatedly in an effort to write a book.[6]
